- Check to ensure no straps are rubbing that could create raw spots on the skin.
- Bedding for animals is still important. Be sure they have clean, dry, deep bedding in which they are able to nest.
- Remove any dried dirt, straw, or manure with a stiff brush before it gets ground into the fabric.
- In warm stretches, monitor their temperature to see if they are sweating under the jackets. If so, remove them during the day, as daytime sweating can cause night time chilling.
- Wash them when necessary as it not only improves the wellbeing of the animal but also greatly increases the life of the jacket.
- When not in use, store jackets in a clean, dry place away from rodents and moisture. Folding them neatly will help maintain their shape.
